IP-Top Award Herbst 1999 (presented by Ringier)

Im Rahmen der 6th Interactive Publishing Conference in Zürich, November 17-19, 1999 wurde im Rahmen einer grossen Feierlichkeit der IP-Top Award vergeben. Klang und Kleid erreichte im international ausgesetzten Wettbewerb das Final der letzten Vier in der Kategorie special surprise. Das wir nicht gewonnen haben war uns allerdings ein Rätsel ;-) toll war das Resultat aber allemal...

Ten websites nominated in three categories

A team of 30 online professionals, chaired by Andy Maerz (head of new media, Ringier) nominated ten websites for this year's IP TOP Award. The three categories for the award are 'general interest', 'special interest' and 'special surprise'. Together with these three awards, the best European corporate communications website will be awarded with the CC-TOP Award . The award ceremony will be held in Zurich on 18 November, during the 6th Interactive Publishing conference.

The nominees for 'general interest' are Swiss search website 'Swissguide', British network 'Guardian Unlimited, and the Norwegian online newspaper 'Aftenposten Interactiv'. For the category 'special interest' the judges nominated 'Zoom' for it's clever and original concept, the German financial specialist 'DM Online' and Online music magazine 'Sonicnet Switzerland'. The websites in the race in the category are 'special surprise' are 'The Official Peter Rabbit Website' about the work of Beatrix Potter, lifestyle shopping website 'Klang und Kleid', community 'Carazza' and Swiss politics game 'Wahlen 1999'

For the CC-TOP Award a separate jury, lead by Martin Radelfinger (CEO of Homepage AG) nominated 'Novo Nordisk', 'Swissair' and German fashion designer 'Marc Cain'.

During the jury meeting, the judges used new software called 'Top Grid' for the purpose of making the best decision. This software was especially designed to take hard decisions with a lot of different opinions.
